• Best Film-Short Subject
• Best Cinematography
• Best Sound Design
• Best Original Score
• Best Film For Lifelong Learning
• Best Marketing Campaign by a Distributor

Jonathan Williams, BBC Earth Executive Producer, says,
“The Arctic spans 8 countries and is home to 4 million people. It is a diverse, fascinating environment that was wonderfully brought to life on the giant screen by the exceptional cinematography of the Arctic team at BBC Studios Natural History Unit, allowing audiences to be transported to this breath-taking environment. At a time when our polar regions are under severe threat, we are incredibly grateful for the recognition of the skill, expertise and endeavour of everyone involved in making this giant screen film”.

“It is a great honour in the Giant Screen filmmaking world to have won in six categories at the 2023 GSCA Achievement Awards. The breathtaking cinematography and never-seen-before footage of ‘ARCTIC’, deserve to be seen on the giant screen”, remarks Wendy MacKeigan, CEO SK Film.

From the filmmakers who brought you “ANTARCTICA” and “Planet Earth II”, comes “ARCTIC,”, an epic 3D adventure. For millennia this frozen realm of breath-taking beauty has been the preserve of extraordinary animals and heroic people that have thrived in some of the most forbidding conditions on Earth. But today their world is vanishing with profound consequences for the health of the entire planet.
From the extreme cold of winter to the height of the summer melt, we will follow the changing fortunes of the Arctic’s mystical wildlife and people.

The film’s release has been accompanied by an international educational and marketing outreach campaign with the goal of uniting audiences globally to inspire change and encourage the next generation to take care of this planet we all call home.

“ARCTIC” is now open in select Giant Screen and IMAX Theaters globally
