As part of SK Films continued educational outreach for their Giant Screen Film Flight of the Butterflies, the company will be participating in this year’s Butterfly Fest to be held on Saturday, August 24th at Tommy Tompson park.
The free, daylong festival runs from 10-3pm and features a number of vendors and activities for the whole family including guided butterfly walks, photography workshops and displays from the Monarch Teacher’s Network, The Toronto Entomological Association and Ontario Nature.
SK Films will be one of the vendors at the festival, with displays on the monarch migration and educational information about the monarch lifecycle. Staff will also be on hand to talk about the film and give away milkweed seed packets, butterfly tattoos and bookmarks from Journey North, which provide instructions on how to use their mobile app to become a Citizen Scientist and help track monarch migrations.
Tommy Thompson Park is located at 1 Leslie Street, south of Lakeshore Blvd. East and the event will be held rain or shine.
