Journey to Mecca

Journey to Mecca is the extraordinary adventure story of a student named Ibn Battuta and his epic and perilous journey in 1325 from Morocco to Mecca to perform the Hajj – one of the longest running and most spectacular gatherings of people on earth. We witness the Hajj in the 14th century and by over three million people today. Through unprecedented access, audiences will enter the Grand Mosque of Mecca itself.

Ibn Battuta did not return home for almost 30 years. He visited 44 countries and journeyed three times further then Marco Polo, becoming one of the greatest travelers in history. The International Astronomical Union named a crater on the moon in his honor.

Oxy, a precocious oxygen atom, captain of the Molecularium, is dispatched from the Unified Field of Atoms on an expedition to discover the secret of life on Earth. Along with her crew – MEL the uptight computer and Hydra and Hydro the bungling hydrogen twins – they have many misadventures exploring the Earth’s atmosphere and the cycle of water molecules, through clouds, snowflakes and raindrops. Lost in the far reaches of outer space, Oxy and her crew are rescued by Carbón and his gang of intergalactic carbon atoms. With lots of bravado and a little luck, Carbón is able to pilot the ship back to Earth to explore nanospace in the metallic lattice of a penny, the polymer tangle of chewing gum, and finally the molecular machinery of a living cell. Helicopters in Action is about to take you on an adventure around the world from Sierra Leone, where you’ll participate in delivering humanitarian aid in the largest helicopter in the world, to Miami for a wild ride in a Black Hawk helicopter intercepting drug runners. Hold on while you swing through the air with five Marines dangling from a rope attached to a CH-46 flying over the Atlantic and swoon as a Cobra swoops low over enemy territory. The roller-coaster ride has barely begun. Try not to slip as you traverse 500,000-volt high wires. Hold your breath as a veterinarian shoots a tranquilizer at a black rhino from a helicopter flying 10 feet above ground in South Africa. Try to keep afloat after dropping into the ocean to rescue an imperiled sailor. Now, unclasp your seat belt as quick as you can because an avalanche is heading straight toward you.
